Author Biography

Guus J. Borger

Guus Borger (1942) is a retired professor of historical geography at the University of Amsterdam and Amsterdam’s Vrije Universiteit. He has published on the interaction between nature and human beings in coastal areas along the southern shores of the North Sea, and has pressed for a more integrated approach to cultural-historical disciplines (archaeology, history of building and historical geography) for the purposes of spatial planning.
